Bob Welter has been involved in the fitness field for over
15 years and has worked as a massage therapist since 1986. More recently he served as the
Vice President of Human Resources for Plus One Holdings, Inc., responsible for all HR areas
and issues for the company’s population of 900 employees.
During his tenure there, Bob managed the company’s health care program, where
he maintained an average of only 3% increase in health care costs from year to year for
the past seven years. He also administered the company’s 401(K) plan, toured the Northeast
for college recruiting, maintained Employee Relations, enforced government regulations,
and supervised employee legal issues.
Prior to his experience at Plus One, Bob was Vice President for Frontline Fitness
where, while still directing Human Resources, he also supervised the operations of a number
of hotel and corporate fitness centers. His prior site management experience includes the
Rivergate Towers Fitness Center and the Salomon Brothers Fitness Centers.
Bob won the Silver Quill and Iris Awards from the IABC for his member-recruiting
video, Silence of the Hams, in 2000. He holds a BA in literature and an MA in Theatre. Bob's
studies have also included Eastern Medicine and meditation with masters such as William Segal.
